   Recently, I retired from the position of Associate Athletics Director for Academic Services at Texas A&M University and joined The Compliance Group (TCG) to develop a new unit within the organization, focusing on providing consulting assistance to athletic academic programs at NCAA institutions.  My background, along with the expertise of Chuck Smrt and other TCG personnel, can greatly assist a NCAA institution.

    I am very excited about this opportunity to continue providing quality services that support student-athletes.  With over 23 years of experience in athletic academic services at the Division I level, I am confident that I have the knowledge and expertise to facilitate growth of a program.  Through my extensive involvement with the National Association of Academic Advisors for Athletics (N4A) in various leadership positions for the past 14 years, I have had the opportunity to visit many campuses and see many great examples of model practices throughout our association.  The accumulation of this knowledge and my experience provides a unique perspective that can be of benefit to an institution’s athletic academic services.
