The Academic Services Consulting Unit Provides:
Reviews*
APR Analysis — A review of the institution’s APR data, with a focus on developing a comprehensive APR Improvement Plan.
At-Risk and Special-Need Students — A review of current diagnostic and academic services.
Academic Fraud — A review of academic services focused on monitoring and educating staff and student-athletes about academic fraud.
Life Skills Program — A review of all five components of the life skills program.
Academic Services — A comprehensive review of all components of the academic services program. The review can include an in-depth analysis of one or more of the other areas listed above.
*Each review includes a request for written materials, on-campus interviews, and submission of a report, including observations and recommendations. The draft report is submitted to the institution within four weeks.
Educational Programs*
APR 101 — A basic overview of the policies and procedures of the academic performance program.
APR 201 — A workshop with emphasis on analyzing the institution’s APR data and tips on developing an APR Improvement Plan.
Non-Traditional Courses — An overview of issues concerning various non-traditional courses and suggestions about how to provide academic services for these courses.
Strategies to Reduce Academic Fraud — An overview of the types of academic fraud that occur and practical suggestions to monitor and reduce its likelihood.
Preparing for the NCAA Certification Visit — A workshop on how to conduct an external review of academic services and suggestions to complete the NCAA self-study.
